How to get even volume levels in your teleseminar recordings
Do your recordings have one person sounding louder than another. You can use an audio editing program to fix this, but it takes a lot of time.
Here's a great tip from Joan Stewart, the Publicity Hound
"I have found an interesting way around this problem and I wish I had thought of this before. I simply use your free teleconference line
for the call and I record it. I also record it in SoundForge as a back up. When I’m done, I call the conference line for the playback, create a new file in SoundForge and basically record the recording, then do any final editing in Soundforge. That makes puts both our voices at the same level. I did this for my mentee teleseminars and it worked beautifully."
Joan is referring to Totally Free Conference
which I endorse. You can set up your account and get 24x7 access to 100 lines at absolutely no cost to you. You can also record your sesssions on a telephone replay line at no cost. You can even let your clients call in on a special replay number so they can hear the recording at no additonal cost to you. Of course, if you charge them for access to that number, you'll make money!
FYI, you'll need a way to get the audio from the phone into your computer. You can buy one at Radio Shack for about $25. There are lots of free or very low-cost software editing programs at http://www.download.com that will save your recording to your computer.
